Announcing

Announcing is a very important component of our events.  Good announcing can change the atmosphere of an entire day by providing good up-to-date information to competitors, spectators, and officials.  Announcers can come in all shapes, sizes, and demeanors.  Some announcers may be funny, some may be knowledgable on current and historical ski events, and others could just plain give good clear results, all of these are acceptable and encouraged.  The important thing is that you're clear, easy to understand, and pleasant to the audience.

Hank Longo, on behalf of USA Water Ski has put together a great set of guidelines for Waterski Announcers.  Please take the time to read through these guidelines before each event that you announce.

If you have any questions regarding becoming an announcer in Ohio, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Greg will be Chief Announcer at all of the Buckeye Buoy Tour Stops in 2009 and is happy to get started approving new announcers from around the state.  In Ohio, we would like all Chief Announcers to be at least "Regular Announcers", however exceptions can be made if a Regular or Senior Announcer are not available for the event.  Those of you who have announced with Greg over the past few years can talk to him about receiving credit for past events to help "fast track" your announcer rating.
