Once again, the Top 16 will be run under the lights of Lottawatta just after dusk. The Top Cat Challenge will be held on Saturday the 19th and will be followed up by 2 rounds of both trick and jump on Sunday the 20th. This is sure to be one of the biggest tournaments of the year, so sign up early to reserve your spot!
Rules
-
Skiers will be ranked based on average buoy count (from rankings list).
-
Once seeded, all skiers will be divided evenly into 3 groups. Skiers in each group will be skiing against that peticular group for one of the TOP 5 spots in that group.
-
The 5 people in each group with the highest cumulative TOP CAT score advance to the Final 16.
-
Any ties shall be determined in a run-off. The skiers shall start the run-off at their last full pass. If the Chief Judge determines that there is not time for a run-off, then the tie will go to the skier with the highest seeding.
-
If a skier skis over his average, then that score becomes his new average for the next round. (For example, if a skiers average is 3 @ 35 off 34 mph and he runs 5 @ 35 off, then 5 @ 35 off becomes his new average for the remaining rounds unless he improves on that score again.) This rule keeps everything more even as you advance to the Final 16 and you have shortline skiers coming up against kids and slower skiers who can greatly improve their buoy count from week to week.
-
The skier with the lowest cumulative TOP CAT score from all divisions will fill the 16th spot in the finals.
-
The first 3 rounds of competition will be scored towards your AWSA rankings.
