State Round Robin

THE "ROUND ROBIN" FORMAT

Emerald Lake will be holding the 4th Tour Stop of the 2010 Buckeye Buoy Tour.  The Round Robin format was used for the first time at the State Championship in 2009 and is back for it's second appearance in 2010.  The format pits skiers against each other in groups of 4.  The object of the game, to win your group each round and collect the most points.  The top skiers with the most cumulative points will earn a spot in the Finals and gain the most points towards the Tour Standings.

All skiers will be guaranteed 2 rounds of slalom.  The total number of skiers in the "Finals" may vary depending how many skiers are competing. 

SCORING

  • Round 1 - Skiers Seeded based on Handicap - The top score in each group will receive 4 points for the round, 2nd highest score will receive 3 points, 3rd highest will receive 2 points, and the lowest score will receive 1 point.
  • Round 2 - Skiers will be randomly grouped - Just as in Round 1, the highest score will receive 4 points and so on...
  • After Round 2, skiers points will be totaled and the Top Point Earners will qualify for The Finals.
  • The Finalists will hold the top places, followed by the highest cumulative point earners from the first two rounds. 
  • The State Championship will be scored seperately.

EVENT ORDER & RUNNING ORDERS

  • Skiers will be seeded, with the lowest seeded skiers off the dock first.  
  • Start Times: 7:30 am SHARP (skiers will be scratched if not on starting dock)
  • Tour Stop Awards will be distributed on Friday after Slalom

OWSA SUMMER MEETING

  • The annual meeting will take place on Friday night at approximately 8:00 pm.

OTHER EVENT DETAILS

  • Camping is available on site Thursday thru Saturday night.
  • State Banquet on-site Saturday night.  Bring your own refreshments.  
  • 50 Slalom Skiers Max for Round Robin 
  • Unlimited entries for the State Championship

  • $50 - 1 Event 
** 20% discount for officials (Assistant, Regular, Senior, Safety, OWSA Rated Announcers)
** 30% discount for Juniors 
** 50% discount for Promo Boats
** 100% discount for Chief Officials & Appointed Judges

ENTRY FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY IS SEPERATE FROM THE STATE ROUND ROBIN.  MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER FOR BOTH EVENTS IF YOU PLAN TO SKI IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
