The final World Cup event of the season, held in Doha, Qatar served as the final step for New Zealand's Aaron Larkin. Larkin has killed this season. After narrowly losing the Moomba title in dramatic run-off fashion to Chris Parrish early this season, Larkin continued to hover near the top of the Men's Slalom pack. Usually settling comfortably into the top five, week in and week out, Larks was closing in on his singular goal of taking his first pro major. The Qatar field was deep. including World Record holder Chris Parrish, World Champ Thomas Degasperi, World Cup Champ Jodi Fisher, and tour shreds Nick Parsons, Billy Susi and group of guys capable of taking the crown. Larkin served notice however, posting a solid 2@39 (in reportedly the worst conditions of the day) that would stand until the end. With the brand of confidence that accompanies a major title win, Larkin will be more ready than ever as 09 rolls in.
