Tragic Water Ski Accident |
|
There was a tragic water ski accident at Gordon Rathbun's Ski Paradise in Acapulco this weekend taking Brett Yager's life. We participate in a potentially dangerous sport, and this makes you really think about how important safety is when we're out there on the water whether skiing, driving, or just swimming around the dock. Zero Off buys Perfect Pass? |
|
Per an email sent out by Zero Off this morning, it appears that they have purchased at least a portion of Perfect Pass giving them the exclusive right to provide speed control for all Drive by Wire boats starting in 2009. It sounds like both companies were having issues with patents held by the other. The big question out there is what will become of Star Gazer? Will it be sold to only Non-Drive by Wire boats? Press Release:
Aquastar, Inc.'s Zero Off, and EControls, Inc., reach an agreement with PerfectPass regarding GPS speed control technology rights.
Zero Off, the leader in GPS speed control technology, and EControls, Inc., the manufacturer of Zero Off, have reached an agreement with PerfectPass, the respected long time industry speed control provider. The agreement states that starting with the 2009 boat model year, Zero Off will be the exclusive GPS speed control system provided by OEM boat manufacturers for all "Throttle by Wire" applications. This technology is utilized by most leading engine builders in the inboard and stern drive marine markets.

Congratulations to Andrew French who is now an Assistant Driver in Trick & Jump and Keri McClure who has become an Assistant Driver in Slalom, Trick, & Jump. It's not easy to pass the practical driving portion of the test and these two did very well in these events.

15 other people attended the clinic also. Hopefully everyone had a good time and learned a lot! Let us know in OWSA Talk if you felt the clinic was beneficial.

I pulled this photo of Ohio skier and National Record Holder Gene Daulton of Columbus, OH off of Steve Schnitzer's website. Gene is 83 years old and still ripping it in the slalom course. She gives us ALL a little hope!
